Turmeric Health Benefits and Recipes

You can make smoothies with it, cook with it, drink your morning coffee with it: Turmeric is indeed a superfood. Hailed for its antioxidant properties, Turmeric has an active component, Curcumin. Turmeric Golden Milk

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of turmeric, washed and peeled
  • 2 cups of oats
  • 2 cups of water
  • Cinnamon
  • Honey

Instructions:

  1. Soak oats in water for 6-8 hours. 
  2. Juice with a fine strainer, and rotate between putting oats and water in a 1:1 ratio, while slowly inserting turmeric in between. 
  3. Mix in some honey and cinnamon based on taste, and serve! 

Carrot Turmeric Juice

Ingredients:

  • 5 carrots
  • 1 apple
  • 1 thumb of ginger, washed and peeled
  • 1 thumb of turmeric, washed and peeled

Instructions:

  1. Prepare all the ingredients by chopping into small 1 inch pieces.
  2. Add all ingredients to the juicer.
  3. Serve cold and enjoy! 

Turmeric Ginger Shot

In a rush, or a hurry? Make these shots, and store them in a fridge for up to 4 days. Ginger Turmeric Shots make a great pick me up, and help you start off your day with only 4 ingredients. 

Ingredients:

  • 1 large lemon
  • 1 thumb of ginger, washed and peeled
  • 1/4 tsp of pepper
  • 1 thumb of turmeric, washed and peeled

Instructions:

  1. Prepare all the ingredients by chopping into small 1 inch pieces.
  2. Add all ingredients to the juicer.
  3. Serve cold and enjoy! 

Turmeric Face Mask

Whenever you have leftover turmeric root pulp, you can easily make them into a face mask. Turmeric is known to have great health benefits for the skin, including anti-aging properties. 

Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp of turmeric pulp
  • 1 1/2 tsp of honey
  • 1 tsp of yogurt

Instructions:

  1. Mix in all the ingredients in a small bowl.
  2. Carefully apply the mask avoiding sensitive areas such as the eyes.
  3. Apply the fresh mask for 10-15 minutes.
  4. Once done, carefully rinse out the mask with lukewarm water.
